The powdered activated carbon for removing COD belongs to coal-based powdered activated carbon. It is specially produced for industrial wastewater treatment scenarios involving the degradation of COD and the removal of organic substances. High-quality anthracite is used as the raw material, which is then carbonized, activated by high-temperature steam, and finely ground and graded to form black fine powder. The micropores and mesopores are well-matched, providing strong adsorption capacity for soluble and difficult-to-degrade organic pollutants in water bodies. It can rapidly reduce the chemical oxygen demand of wastewater, and simultaneously can synergistically remove color, odor, and some heavy metals. It is commonly used as an adsorption material in the deep treatment of chemical, dyeing, electroplating, and municipal wastewater.

Instructions:

1. Conduct a preliminary test: Perform a small-scale test using beakers based on the wastewater quality to determine the optimal dosage, stirring reaction time, and pH conditions.

2. Dosage method: Mix the activated carbon powder into a slurry, stir evenly, and then add it quantitatively to the wastewater tank. Stir thoroughly to ensure complete mixing. After adsorption is complete, add a coagulant for sedimentation.

3. Solid-liquid separation: After the sludge (containing saturated activated carbon) has settled, filter it and have it disposed of by an external company. Powdered activated carbon is generally not recyclable.

4. Safety reminder: Ensure proper ventilation and dust prevention in the operating environment, wear dust masks; stay away from open flames and avoid dust accumulation.
