Quartz sand filter media is made from natural quartz ore through processes including crushing, washing, screening, drying, and acid leaching. It is the most fundamental and widely used granular filter material in the water treatment industry. With distinct particle edges and uniform grain size, it physically traps suspended solids, silt, colloids, rust, and other impurities in water through interstitial spaces. It is commonly used as a pre-filter in filters, filter tanks, V-shaped filter beds, and integrated water purification systems to protect downstream consumables such as activated carbon, resin, and RO membranes. The material exhibits strong chemical stability, resistance to acids and alkalis, insolubility in water, no leaching, and does not alter the pH of water.

It can also be combined with anthracite, manganese sand, and activated carbon to form a multi-layer filter material filtration system.

Usage Instructions：

The installation is carried out in a layered manner, with fine sand on the upper layer and coarse sand on the lower layer. Before filling, dust should be removed. Regular backwashing is conducted to wash away the retained suspended matter and restore the filtering performance. Generally, it needs to be replaced every 2-3 years.
