Usage scenario：

1.In gas-phase adsorption, coconut shell granular activated carbon is commonly used. Usually, the gas flows through the activated carbon layer for adsorption. Depending on the different states of the activated carbon layer in the adsorption device, there are several types of adsorption layers, such as fixed layer, moving layer and flowing layer. However, in small adsorption devices like deodorizers in refrigerators and cars, adsorption is carried out by the convection and diffusion of gases. Besides granular activated carbon, activated carbon fibers and activated carbon shapes are also increasingly widely used in gas-phase adsorption.

2. The air in the instrument room, air conditioning room, basement and underwater facilities often contains body odor, smoking odor, cooking odor, oil, organic and inorganic sulfides, corrosive components, etc., due to external pollution or the influence of human activities in the enclosed environment. This can cause corrosion of precision instruments or affect human health. Activated carbon can be used for purification to remove impurity components.

3. Coconut shell activated carbon can be used in chemical plants, leather factories, paint factories, and in the exhaust gases from various engineering processes that use various organic solvents. These exhaust gases contain various organic solvents, inorganic and organic sulfides, hydrocarbons, chlorine gas, oil, mercury and other components harmful to the environment. They can be adsorbed by activated carbon before being discharged. In the exhaust gases from nuclear facilities, there are radioactive substances such as krypton, xenon, and iodine. These must be adsorbed by activated carbon before being discharged. In the flue gas produced by the combustion of coal and heavy oil, there are sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, which are harmful components that pollute the atmosphere and cause acid rain. These can also be adsorbed by activated carbon.

4. The applications of coconut shell activated carbon in purifying gases are numerous. For instance, in gas masks, cigarette filters, refrigerator deodorizers, and automotive exhaust treatment devices, activated carbon's outstanding adsorption properties are utilized to remove toxic components, harmful components to the human body, or odorous substances from the gas. For example, after adding 100-120 ng of activated carbon to cigarette filters, a significant portion of the harmful components to the human body in the smoke can be removed.

5. Dehydrogenation activated carbon: It is used as the carrier for the gasoline dehydrogenation (deodorization) catalyst in the catalytic units of oil refineries.

6. Vinylon catalyst activated carbon: Used in the chemical industry as a carrier for catalysts, such as as a carrier for vinyl acetate catalysts, etc.

7. Monosodium Glutamate Purified Activated Carbon: It is used for the decolorization and purification of the mother liquor during the production of monosodium glutamate, and can also be used for the decolorization and purification of fine chemical products.

8. Special activated carbon for cigarette filters: Used in cigarette filters in the cigarette industry, it removes toxic and harmful substances such as tar and nicotine from cigarettes.

9. Specialized activated carbon for citric acid: Used for decolorization, purification and odor removal of various acids such as citric acid, amino acids, cysteine, etc.

10. Specialized activated carbon for direct drinking water treatment: Activated carbon is used for direct drinking water in households, water treatment in water plants, and deep water purification in bottled water production.

Matters need attention：

1.During transportation, coconut shell activated carbon should be prevented from mixing with hard substances. It must not be stepped on or trodden on to avoid the carbon particles from breaking and thus affecting the quality.

2. It should be stored in a porous adsorbent. Therefore, during transportation, storage, and usage, complete prevention of water immersion is necessary. Once water seeps in, a large amount of water will fill the active pores, causing the product to lose its effectiveness.

3. Coconut shell activated carbon: To prevent the occurrence of tar-like substances during use, it is necessary to strictly prohibit the introduction of tar-like substances into the activated carbon bed, as this could cause blockage of the carbon pores and result in the loss of its adsorption function. It is advisable to have a device for removing tar to purify the gas.

4. When storing or transporting fire-resistant activated carbon, ensure it does not come into direct contact with a fire source to prevent ignition. Also, during storage, avoid exposing the activated carbon to oxygen and prevent re-ignition. Finally, it must be cooled to below 80°C using steam; otherwise, if the temperature is high and oxygen is present, the activated carbon will spontaneously combust.
